Beef Curry
Ingrdients
- Beef - 1 kg
- Potato - 1 big
- Onions - 2 nos
- Shallots - 1 cup
- Dry red chillies - 10 nos
- Coriander seeds - 3 tsp
- Black Pepper - 1 tsp
- Cinnamon - 2" piece
- Cloves - 4 nos
- Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
- Garlic - 10 nos
- Ginger - 1" piece
- Tomatoes - 2 nos
- Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
- Coconut oil - 3 tbsp
- Salt - to taste
- Curry leaves - few
- Coriander leaves - 2 few
- Corn flour - 1tsp (optional)
Preparation
- Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the dry red chillies and keep aside.
- Fry coriander seeds and keep aside.
- Fry black pepper, cinnamon sticks, cloves and cumin seeds together and set aside.
- Saute Shallots, till they turn brown.
- Grind all the above fried ingredients together.
- Pressure cook chopped beef with turmeric powder, salt, potato and the above mixture.
- Saute onions in the pan, till brown followed by green chillies, crushed garlic and ginger and chopped tomatoes.
- Add these to the cooked beef and cook for few more minutes.
- When the curry turns brown, turn off the flame.
- If you want the gravy to be thick, mix the corn flour in a little cold water and add it to the curry (optional).
- Garnish with curry leaves, coriander leaves and a spoon of coconut oil.
